    Hi,

I’d like to suggest a feature enhancement for Google Meet integrations.

Currently, when creating Google Meet meetings through MeetingHub, there doesn’t appear to be an option to automatically enable recording or designate recordings as part of the meeting setup.

It would be very helpful to have a simple “Enable Recording” option when creating or editing a Google Meet session, similar to how other platforms handle recording settings.

    Ideally, this could include:

    • A toggle to enable recording by default
    • Optional auto-save or archive access for recordings
    • Easy access to the recording link after the meeting ends

I think this would add a lot of value for users who rely on recorded sessions for attendees who cannot join live.

    Thanks for considering it.

    Hi @mindaugas12365,

Thank you for the detailed feature suggestion and for taking the time to explain your use case.

We investigated this request and, unfortunately, the limitation comes from Google’s current API capabilities rather than MeetingHub itself.

When MeetingHub creates Google Meet sessions through the Google Calendar API, Google does not provide any API parameter to enable, configure, or automatically start recordings for individual meetings. Recording permissions and availability are managed by Google Workspace and Google Meet settings.

This differs from platforms such as Zoom, Webex, and Microsoft Teams, which provide dedicated recording-related API options that third-party applications can use.

    As a result:

    • Recording cannot currently be enabled automatically when creating a Google Meet meeting through MeetingHub.
    • Recording must be started from within the meeting by an authorized participant, subject to Google’s Workspace policies and account permissions.
    • The limitation applies to all integrations using the currently available Google Meet APIs.

That said, we agree that easier access to recordings would be valuable. We are exploring ways to improve the post-meeting experience, such as displaying recording links or related recording information when Google makes it available through their services.

We’ll keep monitoring Google’s API updates and will certainly revisit this feature if new capabilities become available.

Thank you again for the suggestion and feedback.
