google maps xml: keys no longer available

    Hi all,
    The descriptin for the google maps xml plugin obliges me to get a google maps api key. But the respective google page says: keys no longer available and that this lib is obsolete. Obviously the plugin requires a key. So what can I do?
    My intention is to show a gpx- file in a google map.

    Is there any alternative? Or where can i get a google maps api key?
