HEllo,

I followed the steps to make an api key. The map in the plugin however doesn’t show.
Instead is says: oops! something went wrong. Google maps hasn’t been loading correctly on this page. See javascript-console for details (= my translation from Dutch)

In the console this is the error:
js:34 Google Maps API error: RefererNotAllowedMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#referer-not-allowed-map-error

Hi there,

That error means that your API key isn’t configured to allow access from the website you are using it on. That is the “HTTP Referrer” mentioned here:
https://wordimpress.com/documentation/maps-builder-pro/creating-maps-api-key/

Can you provide the following for me:

1) Link to your map so I can see the problem live
2) Screenshot of your HTTP Referrer in the Google Console for you API

Hello thanx for your reply. I somehow managed to make it work. The strange thing is that I already followed the steps you mentioned. Well it works anyway.

Good to hear. Often it’s about making the API changes and then clearing the cache in the widget as well.
