• I set my blog up on WordPress.org in January of this year. At first I had around 200 Google Indexed pages and now I have none. I tried to solve the problem by submitting a site map. That has resulted in an increase in my Keywords in Google, but no listing for the indexed pages. I also don’t have a Google page rank yet.

Ive tried to read up online for solutions, but have had no luck so far. Any suggestions – in computer English for dummies?

  • Hey,

What’s the link to your website? You sure it’s not disabled for indexing?

By link do you mean the address? It’s wwww.insideoutinistanbul.com How would I know if it were disabled for indexing?

You can use these two services: http://ismysiteindexed.com/ and https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/2642366?hl=en

    Hope it will help. 🙂

    How do you *know* that?

Definitely get a free Google Webmaster Tools (now called Search Console) account. Then you’ll get Google’s official answer on how well indexed your website is and whether Google’s spiders can reach all your pages or hit errors.

Typing site:http://www.insideoutinistanbul.com into Google brought up 415 results so I don’t think you have the problem you think you have.

I’m referring to my WordPress Dashboard. It shows 0 indexed pages although as you say, the Search Console shows 415.

Is there something I can do to update or correct my WordPress Dashboard?

    Thanks

By default WordPress doesn’t tell you how many pages Google has indexed, so presumably you’ve installed a plugin. Perhaps a plugin that connects to Webmaster Tools (aka Search Console)? Which plugin is it?

It’s Jetpack. Originally it did give me the number of pages that were indexed. I suppose if I can see it on the search console it’s not that important, but it’s good to see it all in the one screen. BTW, do you know how long after submitting a sitemap to Google I’ll get a page ranking, and where I need to look to see it (the search console again or somewhere else?)
