Google Authenticator error

Hello,

For a few weeks I have been using Google authenticator, and when I first logged in it worked fine. Today, however, I had to re-login, and now it keeps giving me the message “The Google Authenticator one time password is incorrect or expired. Please try with a newly generated password.”

Even worse, the backup codes don’t work either, it just gives me the same message.

Is there an error in the app? How can I get back into my account? I can’t find any way to contact Google either, and I’m not very good with internet and programming, so I’m really hoping someone here can help me.
