Google analytics does not work anymore

    Hi,
    I have been using google analytics since I have started my blog http://www.tripsanthology.com without any problem.
    Since the end of last year there are no hits showing up i get a notification on google analytics to review my code. But I haven’t changed anything in the meantime and the google tag assistant is telling me my website is fine.
    I am not sure this could be a problem of an update of wordpress or tracks? What do you think?

    Hello Elena,
    Open the “Real Time” feature in Google Analytics and ping your site. If you pop up on the real time, you know you’re set up.

    Hi Elena,

    The analytics code looks alright except it is missing the “type” parameter: http://pics.competethemes.com/2P2A2A3W1a1v

    I’m not exactly sure if this will fix the data collection issue, but it would be worth modifying the opening script tag to look like this:

    <script type="text/javascript">

    You could update the code manually, or re-copy it from your Google Analytics admin page to make this change.

    I think the “type” attribute is optional in HTML5, nowadays i see most of the sites don’t include “type” attribute in script tag.

    I have tried with placing the code in the footer but nothing changed.
    It looks like a different problem to me as it always worked over the past 6 months, and I did not change anything in the editor.

    Okay thank you for trying that. I would recommend resetting the tracking code and clearing your cache to make sure it is getting found and is without any syntax errors.

    If you are using a plugin to insert the code, perhaps try reverting to an older version of the plugin from when the code was functioning properly.
