• I tried manually insert analytics ID. Now its stuck in the background, fully visible on my site.

    Can’t remember what i did.

  • It seems you didn’t place it in the correct place. Download a copy of your theme files and search through the theme files for the google code and once found, delete it.

    Then you can add your google analytics code to the footer.php, ideally at the end.

    I don’t even know where my theme files are.

    is it in Appearance – Editor? There it is a lot of text.

    To be abkle to fix the problem, you will need to remember what you did!

    Yes, Appearance->Editor is your theme files, did you paste your analytics code that way?

    There are several google analytics plugins which will insert the required code. I’d recommend using one of those. Then you don’t need to edit theme files, and if you change themes in the future you don’t have to worry about remembering to transfer over the code

    Solved it!

    I used a plugin called “Insert Headers and footers”. It somehow put the ID visible in the background. I’ll just use another plugin. Not quite schooled in HTML yet.
