Hi @wppraesenz, I’m not sure what could have changed by a fresh install that would cause this behavior, pk_campaign and other params should be detected by default. If you visit one of these URLs directly (ie, https://yourwebsite.com/?pk_campaign=AdWords&…), then check the Visits Log in Matomo, is the campaign detected?
I assume you mean the campaign wasn’t detected in your test visit? Can you provide an example URL and a screenshot of what gets recorded in the visits log?
Are you using any premium plugins? And can you provide your system report: https://matomo.org/faq/wordpress/how-do-i-find-and-copy-the-system-report-in-matomo-for-wordpress/ ?

Thanks and sorry for the short answer. Here is a URL:
https://praesenz-web.de/rueckfuehrungstherapie/?pk_campaign=AdWords&pk_kwd=R%C3%BCckf%C3%BChrung
But, sorry, I do not know what to show you when it does not show as campaign traffic in Matomo!?
Premium plugins: What do you mean exactly? Something like WP Rocket?
I would not hesitate to give you the system report, but not here…if you gave me an email address I will do that gladly per mail.
Could this ignorance of the suffix stem from a privacy option? Perhaps I changed something here in direction of greater strictness!?

In the visits log, on the left side, it would display campaign information if detected (eg, Campaign Name: mycampaign). This is what the visits log looks like: https://demo.matomo.cloud/index.php?module=CoreHome&action=index&idSite=1&period=day&date=yesterday#?period=day&date=yesterday&segment=visitConvertedGoalId%3D%3D7&idSite=1&category=General_Visitors&subcategory=Live_VisitorLog
I want to do a test where we manually visit the page with campaign parameters (like the link you posted), then see what is recorded in Matomo.

Matomo provides premium plugins like these: https://plugins.matomo.org/?wp=1, but if you have to ask then you’re not using them.

You can email the system report to dizzy (at) innocraft (dot) com (InnoCraft is the company that builds Matomo).

Yes, that’s definitely possible, in the past we’ve seen plugins like WordFence strip URL parameters or characters from URLs causing tracked data to look different.

Thank you very much for caring. It seems, I have detected the problem: The compliance was too strict. I initially marked “Enforce compliance where possible”- this probably shut off the detection of the campaign. This was probably the difference to my former installation. (I even had no menu item “visitor´s log” – and more visitor´s menu items were missing.)
Now the main and most important compliance items are still green and GDPR-conform, so I will go with this version. (I wonder why you did not ask this first, as “enforce compliance” is a matomo-native option…)
Hi @wppraesenz, I’m glad to hear everything is working now. I’ll mark this as resolved, feel free to create a new issue if you need further help.
