• i have recently experienced some problems with my website http://www.nathanvanhesteren.com.

The hosting is with GoDaddy, the site ran perfectly for a week or so, and all of a sudden last night it stopped working or would only load occasionally VERY slowly, or load with no images on the site, and this has been the problem ever since!

I spent an hour on the phone with a GoDaddy representative and he wasn’t very helpful, just said that it was all working his end and the site was working his end too, which is strange because i had quite a few people check it who all said it wasn’t working.

I am just wondering if the issue is GoDaddy, as i am seriously considering changing hosting as ive heard a lot of bad about their hosting with WordPress.

If anybody could help as to whats going on that would be great…

  • Hi Natman

They are probably experiencing issues on the node that your hosting is on. Give it a few more hours and see if there is an improvement. I just tried to look at your site and it didnt load at all – seems to me that their servers may have gone down.

    Thanks for your reply, Sola,

It’s very frustrating, wouldn’t the GoDaddy support guy have been able to tell me if there was a problem on their end? He seemed to think it was all OK…

The only other issue I can think of is that a link in the Domain Name Server (DNS) has either gone down or is overloaded.

Your site seems like its back up now on my side, but still quite slow.

Give it a few more hours

yeah, i am having the same issue, it is being very temperamental, up one minute down the next.

What does the DNS going down/overloaded mean? How would i fix that?

    Thanks!

You wont be able to fix that 🙂 It’s completely out of your control.

    Check this out: http://dnscheck.pingdom.com/?domain=nathanvanhesteren.com

There appears to be an issue with the nameserver ns16.domaincontrol.com (208.109.255.8)

Perhaps get back to GoDaddy with that information – it may be able to help them identify the issue.

    Kind regards
    Nick

Just called them again, and they said everything is OK on their end, and working fast with no problems. Not too sure what to do, they said it may be a location based thing, as everybody i’ve asked in the UK seems to say it’s not working properly

    Hi Natman
It probably is a location based thing. These things normally fix themselves after a few hours.
