Globalization/Localization Amazon Links

    Hi @paulstuttard,

    I am not very technical, so just wondering if you have youtube tutorials for the Amazon globalization/localization function.

    I completed the setup section and tried to set up for carousel using: http://houseindorset.co.uk/plugins/amazon-link/getting-started/.
    But the instructions end at ‘Congratulations you now have a full set of Amazon Credentials to drive the Amazon Link Plugin!’

    I went to ‘template’ to obtain the code. I put the template code on ‘Advanced Ads’ plugin and also tried pasting it on the post etc. But it doesn’t seem to show up on my website.

    Please advise for a beginner thanks!

    Hi,

    You don’t need to post the template code into your posts, you can either manually enter the link using a shortcode:

    
[amazon asin=161695583X&template=image]

    Or use the ‘Add Amazon Link’ frame on the post/page edit screen in WordPress.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your prompt response @paulstuttard.

    I used the ‘Add Amazon Link’ frame on the post edit screen in WP, but only the banner-easy option works, as you can see on my site. I tried the carousel, cart etc options and they do not show up on my screen. Any suggestions re how to to have these other options on the website?

    Also, what is the best way to ensure that we are receiving commissions from non- USA affiliates i.e. do I need to check with each overseas affiliate and do a test run with them?

    For the templates based on flash (Carousel, iframe, my favourites, mp3), it is possible your browser might be blocking the content (ad blocker?).

    For non-US links, you need to register with the appropriate Amazon affiliate for that locale, and ensure that AWS is working for each locale (although this is not needed for the Flash based templates).

    Hi,

    There is no dedicated widget, however you should be able to put a shortcode in the ‘Text’ widget and it will expand it correctly.
