    Hello Support Team,
    I have created a staff table for 9 schools/buildings within our district (1 District, 1 HS, 2 MS, 5 Elementaries)

    As our staff now grows bigger every year, we now need a global staff search to where we can search for any staff member within ALL our schools.

    Is it possible to set this up? Essentially, it does exactly as it functions now, but would be able to search all 8 different staff tables the same way.

    Each school/building are serviced on their own database/subdomain.

    Hi Craig,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    Ok, to summarize, you have 9 TablePress tables that you would like to search globally. Are these tables spread over those different sites/databases/subdomains, i.e. does each site have TablePress installed and then only have its corresponding staff table in it? Or is there one site that has all tables in it?

    Only for the latter could I imagine a possible way here. In that case, you could create a page that contains the Shortcodes for all the tables. Then, you could maybe use the API functions that the DataTables JS library offers to initiate a search in all the tables on that page when someone enters a search term in a newly created search form.

    Another idea could be to merge all tables together into one big staff table and then use the Row Filtering Extension from http://tablepress.org/extensions/row-filter/ to basically generate the smaller/per-school ones from that, via filtering of a new column that holds the school for each person.

    Hi Tobias,
    Wanted to take this time to thank you for getting back to me. I will give your suggestions a try.

    I do have each school on a separate subdomain…will dive in and give it a run for the money!

    Hi Craig,

    hhm, okay, that makes things difficult here 🙁 TablePress can not directly load tables from other sites of a Multisite network, I’m afraid.

    But maybe you can come up with something.
