Hi, I have tried installing the free version of Give on our site twice now in the last couple of weeks and each time it 404’s the admin area. FTP in, delete the plugin and it’s back to normal. We’ve got the purchase approved by our ED and are ready to buy the Plus package as soon as I can get this thing installed without error. I’ve tried looking for an answer in the documentation but nothing seemed to address this issue I’m experiencing. Thanks in advance for looking in to this for me.

    Debug log shows the following:

“[27-Jul-2018 20:09:36 UTC] PHP Notice: wp_enqueue_script was called incorrectly. Scripts and styles should not be registered or enqueued until the wp_enqueue_scripts, admin_enqueue_scripts, or login_enqueue_scripts hooks. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 3.3.0.) in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas06_data01/31/2381631/html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4161”

And Line 4161 from functions.php shows:

    “trigger_error( sprintf( __( ‘%1$s was called incorrectly. %2$s %3$s’ ), $function, $message, $version ) );”

This error doesn’t seem related to this plugin install at all though. Any idea what could be the problem with getting Give installed on our site?

Following up on this @tucsoncleanandbeautiful — is this resolved? My suggestion would be to download the ZIP and install manually.

Let us know your status and whether we can help further or not.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly @dlocc and @webdevmattcrom . I wear a lot of hats around here and am not around the computer a lot, so thanks for your patience with me getting back to you.

Anyways, Matt, your suggestion worked. (!!!) I hate that I didn’t think of that method, but really glad it turned out to be a simple fix.

Going to be purchasing the Plus package soon so we can get going with this…really appreciate y’all’s help!
