Getting lightbox/ gallery working ?

Just started a wordpress site and I am completely new to wordpress, but I pick it up very fast and was able int install to my server without a problem. Installed a few plugins and here is my story…

In a nutshell I post alot of photos on my site, so lightbox was the obvious choice. I figured it would be as easy as installing the plugin.

Selecting which photos I would like to upload, then choosing lightbox as the display option and that would be the end of the sotry. Perhaps I am dim today or whatever the case is. For some reason I just cant get it to work.

Is there any easy way to just make it work ?

In theory shouldnt it be as easy as selecting the files you would liek to upload, click select all and have them all shown on one page ? Talking without lightbox.

The only way I can manage to make it work is manually select them all and upload them, then go thgrough them all afterwards and “insert into post”.

I choose the [gallery] option however nothing loads on my page.

I read the the manual for wordpress and it dosent really go into specifics other than “insert” into post.

Any help would great be appreciated, what is the standard for lightbox plug in ? or are there a few decent ones ?
