• Once WordFence made my whole website blank, which was quite annoying, but I managed to make it work, so this review isn’t really about that, just a note, that this can happen.

Now I have to write a review, because it’s just getting so annoying. With the constant 403 errors and permission asking about everything I want to do in my admin area and in some places I can’t even accept, that I am really just doing my job. Today I’m trying to login to my site and now they blocked my admin account! Saying that the password is in a list, what hackers possibly use. And do those hackers know my username too? It is a joke, that an admin cannot login to his own site, because of a plugin.

  • Hi Mowar!
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with Wordfence. Sounds like you’ve had a couple of different problems. It doesn’t look like you have reached out to our support here on WordPress.org to get your issues resolved? I would recommend you do that.

Regarding our new password feature, it is possible that the hackers know your username as well. We implemented this feature because we saw that credentials from leaks were being used to log in to WordPress sites and install malware. Our top priority is to stop Wordfence sites from getting hacked. It should be easy for admins to regain access by simply resetting their password.

Please reach out to our free support here on WordPress.org if you have any other questions or concerns.
