Getting 403 500 Errors for WordPress pages

  • Hi when I try to view my WordPress blog pages I get a 500 Error. when viewing a none wordpress page the link is OK.

    so http://pixelbolt.co.uk/blog/ doesn’t work but http://pixelbolt.co.uk/contact.php does.

in the server error logs I see the error [Wed Sep 30 05:30:16 2009] [error] [client 87.81.112.85] Directory index forbidden by Options directive: /home/pixelbol/public_html/

do you know what might be causing this?

  • 1) check your htaccess code. Is it correct?
    2) Do you have suphp on your server? Consult your host
    3) Check for proper permissions

I think I have cunningly deleted my index.php in the public_html directory.

So I’ve copied the index.php file back in and I can see my pages again. However I can’t change the theme it is stuck on the default theme.

    Very strange…

I’m an idiot. Though it is very early (I was looking at the localhost admin set up).
