I’ve been struggling to get GetResponse integrated. Each time I try to activate it says invalid API even though the API is indeed valid and verfied in my GetResponse account. The API key worked fine in other plugins, but the plugin’s response is:

Invalid API Key. Please try again.

I’ve typed it in manually, copied/pasted directly from GetResponse and it just keeps saying invalid API key.

    Hi skeetedre,

Sorry to hear that you’re facing this issue.

Which version of WP Conversion Boxes are you using?

This integration error generally happens when either the key is invalid or the plugin is not able to connect to the GetResponse server. I just checked on my localhost copy of the plugin and it integrates just fine with my API key, so there might me an issue with connecting to the server from your website.

Please try again after some time or try on some other website integration to see if it gets integrated.

    Let me know your results.

It says Version 2.4.1 but odd that it wouldn’t connect as I have been using the same key fine on other newsletter plugins that connects to Get Response.

Ok. Just send me your API key on this page: http://wpconversionboxes.com/contact/

I’ll try to connect on my localhost and let you know if it’s plugin’s issue or some other.

    Hi skeetedre,

I got your email and used your API key to integrate GetResponse and was able to successfully integrate it:

This means that there is no issue with the plugin. But a possible reason why this could be happening is that your request is getting timed out before receiving data from GetResponse server. This can either be due to slow server where you’ve hosted your site or slow GetResponse server when you try to connect.

I’d suggest you wait for some time and try again.

Don’t think it’s speed or that it will resolve itself as this is a dedicated server, solely for this site that is pretty powerful. I’m wondering if it is not a blocking issue (IP address) but won’t know for sure as there is no way to show real error logging, just that generic error about “Invalid API Key” which is not accurate.

Ok. It might be an IP blocking issue, but I’m also not sure about it.

I’ll add some advanced error logging in the next version of the plugin so that it helps you and others with same issue.

But for now, all I can say is this does not seem to be related to the plugin but something else as I’ve tried your API key on two more installations and it worked just fine. This might also be due to some other plugin conflicting with WP Conversion Boxes or something related to the server.
