• I have the Slider settings set to 960 x 340 and it’s working great, but I don’t really understand how the Featured Image resizing works. Ultimately, I would like to be able to Set the Featured Image and have the Slider resize the image to 960 x 340. Currently, I upload the image at the proper size and then set it as the featured image.

    How does this typically work?
    Thank you!

WordPress generates a copy of your image sized per your slider settings at the time of upload. The featured image identifies the image & the sized used depends on what size your theme uses (ex. thumbnail).

From what I can tell, WordPress crops it in the middle. If I want to have the most control over my image, it’s best to upload it as the size of my slider. Correct?

Thank you so much for your help.

You image should be larger than the slider. The way to have the most control is to make sure the image matches the aspect ratio of the slider. For example, if you image is 1920px wide then the height should be 680px.
