Hi, I’m interested in using generatepress for my website, but when I clicked the preview button, it looked nothing like it does here: https://wordpress.org/themes/generatepress/
In that image, the front page has a large image and 3 columns below it. In the preview mode, it looks like a blog with two columns, larger left column and a right side bar. How do I make the home page look it does on the first link I posted, with the large image across the top and the 3 columns below?

    thanks

    You’re welcome 🙂

    Hi
In theory, does generate press pro really need a page builder, per say? Unless the given layouts or sections are not enough for someone?
Also… add and/ or Adsense placement. How is that accomplished?
(Page builders slow a site down a bit?)
    Thanks

I’m not sure page builders are ever really “needed”. They can certainly speed up design, but they’re in no way necessary.

As for ad placement – the theme is full of hooks you can use: https://docs.generatepress.com/collection/hooks/

There’s also widget areas, and of course your content.

Let me know if you need more info 🙂

    Hi
Thanks for info. Now to “finish off the theme, does your SOCIAL ICON plugin work for Social Sharing as well? If so, how does the plugin take a blog post with thumbnail image and “link it” to the particular social site to publish it (eg. Twitter or Facebook)?

It doesn’t – it simply links to social profiles.

There’s lots of plugins out there that handle sharing though – I suggest taking a look at Social Warfare.
