    Hi There,
I’ve already updated my WordPress to the newest version 4.9.5 nowadays and I’ve read the “GDPR Compliance Tools in WordPress” article on wordpress.org.

It writes:”A new “Privacy” page is added under the “Tools” menu. It will display new, confirmed requests from users, as well as already fulfilled requests. It will also contain the tools for exporting and anonymizing of personal data and for requesting email confirmation to avoid abuse attempts.”

Maybe I’m misunderstanding something, but I can’t find the “Privacy” page under the “Tools” menu. Why I can’t find it?

Thank you for your help in advance,
(And sorry for my English, I’m not a native speaker.)

    Hi @rien7,

This same page also says The new privacy tools are scheduled for release at the end of April or beginning of May 2018.

So it is not aired yet.

    Hi @helldog2018,
Yes, but they have written “added”, so I’ve thought that function is alraedy created. But, ok it seems I’ve misunderstood it.
Thank you for the quick answer.

    Hi @jdembowski,
Thank you for the link, it looks usefull.

But I have another question about GDPR and the Privacy Policy:
In the text of the Policy should I write that I use plugins (e.g. Jetpack)?

It’s something that is being (appropriately so) taken very seriously.

But I have another question about GDPR and the Privacy Policy:
In the text of the Policy should I write that I use plugins (e.g. Jetpack)?

No one can help you here about that. 😉

Here’s why: there is so much misunderstanding about GDPR and the one whose acronym I can’t recall in Germany. There’s a lot of incorrect ideas about what it actually means and where it applies.

If you ask in WordPress support forum what you should include in a privacy statement then you are certainly going to get (if you are lucky) a partially correct answer. Most likely, it will be flat out wrong. Perhaps asking in a legal advice forum would be better.

If you want to include that you use Jetpack in your privacy statement and want to validate what Jetpack stores, captures, etc. then I suggest asking in the Jetpack plugin support forum. It’s a very good question.

You mustn’t panic about the GDPR, it looks worse than it is because of the official language. A lot of associations wrote very simple manuals for their member associations.
Jetpack is working to comply to the GDPR,

These are the first changes we’ve made to help Jetpack fully comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which takes effect May 25th, 2018. Keep an eye open for more updates coming soon.
