    Hi,

I’m just wondering if your plugin is GDPR compliant?

Being as an email address could be deemed as personal data, and the plugin must do some gathering and storing of that email address in order to send out the cart reminder emails before a customer may have got the stage of checking the terms and conditions at the end of the checkout process of WooCommerce.

Is there a way for a customer to opt out of the features of this plugin? Or opt in in the first place?

Just curious as I’m about to start building a new e-commerce site and a client would like this functionality but I need to check that it is GDPR compliant.

    Thanks very much
    Nick

    Hi @nickylew,

First of all, I apologize for the delay in response to this. Actually, we were on leave from 25th to 29th October 2019 due to the Diwali festival here in India hence the delay.

Yes, our Abandoned Cart Lite and Pro plugin are GDPR Compliant. As a part of compliance, we do not capture any data of end-users and customers without their consent. The data like customer’s Name and Email address which is captured by our Abandoned Cart plugin is stored on the website only where our plugin is installed. We do not store any data on our server.
Attaching the screenshot for your reference: https://www.screencast.com/t/AQ7WXhwpv4in

We provide settings “Message to be displayed for Guest users when tracking their carts”, “Message to be displayed for registered users when tracking their carts”, “Allow the visitor to opt out of cart tracking” and “Message to be displayed when the user chooses to opt out of cart tracking” in our Abandoned Cart plugin related to GDPR compliance.

The first two settings will allow the site admin to add the text messages on shop, product and checkout pages to inform users of how their data is being used.
“Allow the visitor to opt out of cart tracking” setting will allow the site visitor to opt out for cart tracking and the “Message to be displayed when the user chooses to opt out of cart tracking” setting will allow site admin to add text for GDPR messages which will be displayed as links when the end-user chooses to opt-out for cart tracking.

Please have a look at these settings of our plugin and feel free to ask if you have any questions.

    Regards,
