Admin option: “Check for duplicate comments” (Range 1 to X characters) so auto duplicate content sensitivity characters would be set by admin in plugin options.
Hi @wordmax,
We’re really sorry but there is no way to do this.
That’s too bad. Such a feature is very useful to keep the quality of the comments lean and optimized for relevance. Maybe you will consider a admin option “detect duplicate content” as a feature or a premium add-on in the future. It would be interesting to get your client feedback to see if this is a feature they would use.
Thanks
Hi @wordmax,

We can use this plugin for many purposes, not just for comments. For example, we can use it as way to gather Promo Codes for e-commerce merchant deals. We want users to submit their best promo codes for a merchant where there is a unique promo code such as “HALFOFF”. But we do not want multiple users submitting the same promo code/answer, therefore we suggest an option for WPDiscuz to check for duplicate submissions. So if the user is typing “HALF… then a popup or other notification would show to the user that a similar answer/comment has already been posted. It would give the user ability to add +1 vote to already existing comment or no action at all. This is how STACK OVERFLOW/STACK EXCHANGE works. So in the example of the Promo Code/deal submission it would be super effective to avoid duplicate answers.
Does this make sense?
