• After updating wordpress recently, I have a new bug in the post editor. When I make a gallery with 6+ columns, it starts displaying wrong. For example, 6 columns shows 7, and 7 shows 8, etc. In the actual post, it’s correct, but not in the editor. Does anyone else have this bug or only me? I don’t know if it’s wordpress or my theme. I don’t have another website to check.

  • Hello @phoenixblue ,

I hope you are doing well.

I couldn’t replicate the issue on my lab site. I used the default Gallery block and set the columns to 6. In the editor, 6 columns show 6. A maximum of 6 columns can be selected with the default Gallery block. If you can select more than 6 columns, are you using a custom Gallery block?

I suspect the issue could be a conflict. To determine whether the issue is caused by a conflict, please run a full conflict test.

Before starting, create a recent backup of your site so you can restore it if needed. Next, deactivate all plugins and MU-plugins, switch to a default theme such as Twenty Twenty-Five, clear all caches, and check if the issue persists.

If the issue is gone, a conflict is present. Reactivate the remaining plugins and theme one by one, testing after each activation until the issue reappears and the conflicting component is identified.
If the issue remains, then there is no conflict.

You can also find detailed instructions here:
    https://wpmudev.com/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#conflict-test

As this is a live site, I recommend performing the test on a staging environment to avoid affecting visitors. Most hosting providers offer a staging feature, or you can use the WP STAGING plugin to create one.

    Kind Regards,
    Fida Al Hasan
