My nexgen gallery not responsive. I am using nexgen free. I have a setting in the gallery within the page to display number of columns: 3 but when I look at it in mobile view the 3 columns are still there, rather than the images stacking into one column for mobile. I have searched the settings and cannot find the solution. Is there shortcode for desktop, mobile & tablet number of columns? …or responsive setting somewhere?

    Hi @karenkm,

NextGen doesn’t currently have separate settings for specific devices.

I hope that you wouldn’t mind removing the setting for the columns number and allow NextGen to automatically adjust the columns number based on the image’s size, the container size, and the device’s screen’s width to see if that’ll work in your case.

    Please let me know 🙂

I have done this too, removing the number of columns setting but when I do that the images are all over the place, some have 2 columns and some have 1. This problem is showing when using the caption feature.

    Hi @karenkm,

I am glad to inform you that in the latest version of NextGen Gallery, we have added a brand new column system which you may be interested to try for your galleries.

If going to “Customize Display Settings” tab, from the “Insert Gallery Window” you will now be able to select a new view type for your galleries “default-view.php” that uses an improved layout for the columns’ responsiveness.

    Hope this helps,
    Mihai
