Gallery function issues –

I have a gallery page set up with 8 different groups of photos. having a few issues.
1) Whenever I click on the slideshow for one, it opens slideshows for all 8 groups, not just the one. I just want one slideshow to load at a time.
2) Whenever I click on the number bar below the photos that should get me to the next set of images, all 8 groups move forward.

Have I not set this up correctly with albums vs galleries, etc?

Also, it takes forever to load. what is the recommended number of photos per gallery so it doesn’t get too bogged down?
