Hi,
this varies from theme to theme, the best way to check what will be the best image width/height ratio is:
1. while using Chrome navigate to one of Ad details pages
2. click F12 a developer console will appear
3. in the developer console top left there is a mouse icon (with a rectangular) click it and hover over gallery.
4. when you hover over gallery you should also see a tooltip with the gallery dimensions (it will be something like ” XXX x 350 ” ) the XXX is the recommended width for your current theme.

Mine works out to 1013×350 to work perfect in the gallery. However, when I use that same ratio but increase the image size in that ratio, it no longer fits in the scroll-able gallery. Why is that? Unless I make them exactly 1013×350, it crops the right and left….
Do you have image cropping enabled? If so then try disabling it the image should not be just scaled then.

Cropping is not enabled in WordPress Media. Is there a setting in Wpadverts?
Yes, the cropping settings for WPAdverts gallery are in wp-admin / Classifieds / Options / Core / Gallery panel.
See https://wpadverts.com/documentation/custom-image-sizes/ for more details.
