• Hey gents, I just installed WP and its nice! My problem deals with the theme side of things. When ever I click on ‘Presentation’ tab. I get..

Fatal error: Call to a member function read() on a non-object in <WPPATH>\wp-includes\functions.php on line 1765

It seems to be installed ok and this is the only problem. If ya have any insite lemmie know!

I just got this problem after installing a particular new theme (namely: connections). Not sure what the deal is. Put that theme folder in, I get the message. Take it back out, everything is normal. I don’t get that problem with any other theme so far. Can’t figure out what the deal is.

Maybe your problem might be theme-related somehow too. ???

using wp 2.02, I found that having an empty dir in themes is causing this error. It’s fine if it’s the proper user, but I had one owned by root, with 755 permission, and it caused the error. I changed the owner to what it should be, and then the error went away.

    fussy little thing!
