Hi @tonygao
Thanks for sharing the log entry. This is a deprecation notice, not an error. The function still works; it’s just flagging that the code calling it uses an older method. Your site’s functionality isn’t affected, and the notice is only written to debug.log because debugging is enabled.
In WP Job Manager 2.3.0, reCAPTCHA handling moved to a new internal class. WP Job Manager itself doesn’t call the old method anymore, so the notice comes from an extension that does. The most likely sources are the Applications or Resume Manager add-ons, which still use the older method. We’ve passed this on to the team so it can be updated in a future release.
In the meantime, there are two options:
- Ignore it. It’s harmless and won’t cause problems on the front end.
- Stop logging notices on the live site. In
wp-config.php, set WP_DEBUG (or WP_DEBUG_LOG) to false once you’re done debugging. We generally recommend keeping debug logging off on production sites.
If you’re using a custom theme or snippet that calls is_recaptcha_available() directly, update it to use WP_Job_Manager\WP_Job_Manager_Recaptcha::instance()->is_recaptcha_available(). Note that the notice itself suggests a different replacement, which won’t work.
If you have either of those add-ons and would like to follow up, please contact us through https://wpjobmanager.com/support/ so we can help directly. The WordPress.org forums can only cover the free plugin.
I will just ignore it for now!
Thank you very much!
