Fullscreen Image Slideshow
-
Good day,
Forgive me if I am missing something, but I cannot figure out how to use the fullscreen image slideshow that is mentioned in the description for this theme. I see what appears to be an example of the slide show in the 3rd and 4th images here:
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
God bless

Hey there goblintfox,
Hope you’re well! π
I don’t think it comes with the theme but let us wait for the author’s response. π
Best Regards,
CalvinHi
The fullscreen slideshow is part of the theme.
Any images uploaded through a post (and are therefore attached to the post) will become part of a fullscreen slideshow for that post. Launch the slideshow by clicking on the images when you view the post. The fullscreen rollover icon and slideshow only work and are displayed on browsers that support fullscreen (any modern browser).
This is a great example and the theme was originally developed for Jim Mortram’s work:
So …
1) create a new post
2) upload images to be displayed in that post whilst in the new post
3) view the post
4) click on the image to launch the fullscreen slideshowPlus … make sure you upload large images to take advantage of the fullscreen slideshow. The image dimensions I recommend are:
Thumbnail 1200 x 300
[uncheck crop thumbnail]
Medium 2400 x 600
Large 4800 x 1200These are also in the theme download readme.txt file.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards
MikeGood morning,
Thank you for the response. When I click on the images in the Small Inertia though, nothing comes up. Also in the upper left hand corner of the image, I do see a small box with four arrows which I assumed meant that it would enlarge. I did try creating my own post, with the same result. I have opened the website in both Safari 8.0.3, as well as IE 11.0.9. I should mention that when I open the site in IE, I do not even see the icon in the upper left hand corner of the images. Do you know of any settings in those browsers which may restrict the ability to view the slide show?
God bless
Hi
If you see the icon at the top left of an image in a post, the slideshow should launch when you click the image (and not the icon).
Let me know your operating system version and I will test it and those two browsers and let you know what I find out.
There may well be settings that restrict your ability to see the slideshow, that prevent the browser going fullscreen. You would have to research that on your side.

MikeGood afternoon,
I am using OS X 10.10.2 and Windows 7 Ultimate SP1. Is the slideshow supposed to display with a lightbox type of overlay? I just want to make sure that I am understanding what it is supposed to look like.
God bless
If it is of any importance, I was visiting a friend’s site which they created with Blogger. Clicking on any image in their posts does bring up a full screen slideshow of the images in that post.
God bless
Hi
I did a little testing. You are correct, using OSX10.10.2 and Safari 8.0.3 the slideshow does not work. You can see the icon, but the fullscreen slideshow does not launch. Windows 7 and IE 11 do not show the icon which suggests that combination does not support taking elements fullscreen.
I will research both of these further and will release an updated theme in the next few weeks.
Thank you for pointing it out.
Regards
MikeI’ll post here when I have released an updated theme.

MikeI do appreciate you taking the time to look into this matter. It is always nice to see good support for a product.
God bless
I’ve submitted an updated theme that fixes the issue. I’ll let you know when it is available to install.
Regards
MikeThank you.
What was the exact nature of the incompatibility?God bless
I was using a jQuery plugin to test whether the browser was capable of going fullscreen and to manage fullscreen requests and the browser leaving fullscreen. It had become out of date. I switched to using a newer javascript plugin to manage fullscreen (screenfull.js … https://github.com/sindresorhus/screenfull.js/).

MikeThe new theme is live. Let me know if it solves your problems!

MikeI’m using Version 1.16, for me the fullscreen gallery only shows up when I switch from Standard to Gallery in the Post editor. no action needed, just for your information. and thanks for this wonderful theme
Christian
Thank you Christian, you do need to set the post format as Gallery to see the fullscreen slideshow! That had slipped my mind.
Thank you for your kind words on the theme.
Regards
Mike
