  • Hi,

Always nice to hear someone likes the plugin!

But could you be a little more specific about what should be responsive?

    Hi!

I haven’t used NextCellent Gallery under a responsive site, yet.
But under responsive I mean that if I view a website on different devices (monitor, tablet, phone), the window and even the gallery thumbnails automatically should resize in a way that gives the user an optimal experience.
My non-responsive website is 960px wide and I have 5 thumbnail gallery images in a row. If the gallery plugin would be responsive, by decreasing the size of my browser window I would get only 4, then 3, etc. thumbnail images in a row. I guess it doesn’t work like this at the moment.

The basic concept is that the gallery images and elements should follow the size of the display.

Nextgen 2.0 is responsive, but full of bugs, I wouldn’t use it.

If you set the number of images on a row to 0 in the settings, it will fit as many as possible on one row, so then you would only get 4, 3, 2 and so on.

Changing the size of the thumbnails is relatively easy, except for one aspect: the thumbnails must be large enough. If we include a theme that sets the thumbnails to a max-width of 200px, for example, but the user then sets it to 150px in the settings, it will look ugly. This isn’t really easy to solve as well, as it requires a mix of CSS and php.

However, it can still be done just by adding a few lines of css, so it isn’t that hard to make images adjust size 🙂

I have 0 columns per page in the gallery settings. Unfortunately I don’t have the necessary CSS and PHP knowledge, yet, but thank you for the information anyway!
It would be still nice to see an out-of box responsive support where we don’t need programming skills. 🙂

I’ll keep it in mind, and so will WPGetReady probably 🙂
