FTP-like access for users

    Hi I would like to create a possibility for clients to access my FTP server. It doesn’t need to allow them to upload anything. It should just let them view files and download them.

    Note: FTP server is not the same one FTP on which I store my website.

    Preferred solution:
    Give user a place to type text where he suppose to write name of folder. Once user write ‘examlpe01’ and press enter he will be shown content of ‘FTP-root-folder/example01’ destination on FTP and he can proceed to sub folders, but he can’t go upwards in folder hierarchy.

    ‘example01’ folder would be created by me manually in FileZilla and then I would let client know that he suppose to go to mywebsite.com/clientftp and use this as access word.

    Any ideas?
    I found some plugins, like ‘Mmm Simple File List’ and ‘File Away’, but none seams to do it.

    Is there any plugin or other option that could do that?

    This sounds very niche and specific to your needs which would lead me to believe that a plugin has not yet been built out or publicly released to perform this task.

    It sounds like you’re going to have to build something out yourself to allow for this functionality on your site.
