• I just followed the wp instructions for an ftp install and seemingly everything went as it should though to the “OK sparky…” window, from which I proceeded to install. I was then presented with a blank screen as http://dgyoga.com/wp (which is the subdirectory of the install) and the same blank screen for http://dgyoga.com/wp/wp-admin. I’ve got cpanel / ftp access. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Can you verify which version of PHP your server is running (you may need to ask your hosting provider)?

Also, who is your hosting provider?

James, Thanks. The host is Netregistry http://www.netregistry.com.au. I can’t tell the php being used but I can see the config in cpanel.

James, I found the version – it’s 5.3 – and there’s a page of stuff listed with boxes to tick e.g. mysql is ticked. Thanks.

Ok, that shouldn’t be throwing blanks. Maybe one of the files was corrupted during transfer.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.
