FTP Error

    Hi,

    I am actually new to wordpress. I am trying to upload a theme and I read somewhere that i could do it thru ftp.
    However I am unable to connect ftp. It gives me an error Status: Connecting to 76.74.254.120:21…
    Status: Connection attempt failed with “ECONNREFUSED – Connection refused by server”.
    Error: Could not connect to server
    I have chk and re chkd everything.

    Yes you can upload your theme through ftp (in wp-content/themes) folder
    for the ftp error you should contact your hosting company
    as such u should have your
    hostname as :
    beautywidbrainz.com
    username:
    password:

    R u using filezilla or similar software / do you have access to control panel of your server

    This is not really a WordPress issue, but rather one for your host. There are a bunch of reasons for this error, although typically it is one of the following:

    • FTP is not configured or enable on your host machine
    • There is a firewall that is blocking access to FTP on your host machine

    Give your host a call and ask them how to access your site with FTP, they will help you out, and if they don’t pick a new host.
