I want to use this theme for books, which means I need the full front cover of the books on the page. I have no idea now how I succeded with the previous ones, but now I need two more books on the site, and I’m basically crying my eyes out as I can only get these small thingies of absolutely no use.

WHY? No matter what I do – no matter the format of the original (once it was like if more than 1k px wide I got the whole thing (normally I use 800px images to make them reasonable small) but I get nowhere now. And if I cant show the full front cover, I can’t use the theme. as simple as that.

right now I haven’t put the books on yet – just had this for a moment to show. so if you look at the page it looks right, only I can’t add books and have them look right too. they end up as the last one here:

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey @jey,

The large dimension images are being rendered weirdly now. I have tried to replicate the issue on my side, and what I have noticed is that images with large dimensions are rendered differently. What worked for me is using a smaller range of dimensions (see screenshots below). I used an external tool to change the dimensions.

In your case, you are probably using additional CSS to reduce the sizes of the images. Go to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS to check if CSS styles are being applied.

Additionally, this theme hasn’t been updated for 8 months, and the support forums queries have gone unanswered for over 1 year. It was tested with older versions of WordPress (5.2) and PHP (5.6). This is a fact you should take into consideration on whether to keep on using the theme.

    Good luck,
    Erick

tried it out – seems I have to go down to 300px width to show all, but then it doesn’t adjust, so I have to get through all images to make them all same size. so will. never put extra css on that one as I could choose what to show (dates etc.)

tried the Cube Blog first – and again now – but I don’t want dates etc. showing as irrelevant. for this I tried extra css but it leaves a big blank space instead. looks odd. (have a standard don’t show dates code that works but it doesn’t remove the space) so it makes this gap beneath the name

thanks very much for the help. I was totally baffled by the worked-don’t work (still is really, as it a few days ago looked like if the image was big enough it worked. not the other way around.)

editing image size is easy enough, so I’ll just do that for now.

    thanks again
