I have a current site I wrote myself in PHP a long time ago but am no longer doing any web development. I like the current look and feel but need to get up to the 21st century so I liked your theme (child.) Can you point me in some direction of how I can replicate, not exactly, but somewhat in your child theme?

    My existing live site

    Thanks so much,
    Joe

    Hey Joe,
Unfortunately I don’t have the time to help you with on that free support forums.
If you need customization – you need to hire someone to help you with that.

However – by taking a look at your site I think you’re doing okay on the customization side already. If you have any specific questions – shoot, but I can’t give overall general help.

A piece of design advice though – don’t make the font so light. Color contrast in fonts is a vital part of any good design.

    Hi Norris,

I totally understand and appreciate your response. Theming is not an issue for me although I am more familiar with Drupal, this was a long time ago.

My only issue is how to make a page with smaller thumbnails, a wall in a grid, say 8 x 8 thumbnails. I just need to know where to look, jQuery, CSS, plugin or a theme function.

About the gray title, art is not a commercial venue so that needs to be backgrounded to only have the art. But I will make it darker as per your suggestion.

In any case, I wish you well with all your work,

    Joe

Hi Joe, how did you get the dropdown options in your title pages (art works and bio) and sub-drop downs (under artworks, on paper, there are sub options like drawing, paranormal, etc)? I am trying to create categories and sub-categories that will appear as drop downs in my pages but unable to find the option…

    Thanks!
    G

    Hi,

I just noticed that you were referring to a WordPress site when I responded to your emailed question from the contact form. I made a child theme to “Twenty Sixteen” so this is not appropriate for this forum. Minimalist Portfolio is truly great but my personal needs were specific. BTW, I wrongly said it was a child of Hamilton in my email.

I don’t have time to finesse the theme so alas I can’t publish it.

Just to help you though, the menu structure is well within the base Twenty Sixteen theme so you don’t need to reinvent the wheel.

Again, you should not be posting in this forum since it is no longer related to the fine excellent work by Norris (@justnorris)
