• Hello,

I’m contacting you regarding an issue with the latest version of your plugin (4.0.7).
Since updating to this version, several French translations have disappeared from the dashboard.
Could you please help me resolve this issue?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

  • Hey @screenup ,

Thank you for reaching out. Please update the translation files, including the latest .pot file, to receive the updated translation strings. The latest version includes updated strings, please update the translations accordingly.

You can use Loco Translate to easily manage and update the Tutor LMS translations.

    Hello,

I updated the translations, but I still have several untranslated strings in French.

Do you have an alternative solution? I would prefer not to have to update each translation manually, especially since everything was working correctly before the latest update.

    Best regards

    Hey @screenup ,

You can also contribute to the official WordPress language repository for Tutor LMS. This will help ensure the translations are available in future updates without needing to manually translate the strings each time.

You can contribute to the French translation here: https://translate.wordpress.org/locale/fr/default/wp-plugins/tutor/

    Hello,

So, from what I understand, there is no solution to my issue other than spending time manually translating your plugin again with the new version?

How is it possible that the new version of your plugin has overwritten or lost so many translations that were working correctly in the previous version ?

I would expect existing translations to be preserved when updating the plugin. Could you please let me know if there is a way to restore the translations from the previous version ?

I really don’t want to have to manually translate everything again when these translations were already working before the update.

    Best regards

    Hey @screenup ,

Previously translated strings should continue to work as long as the .pot file is updated to the latest version. If the .pot file has not been updated in your localization, the translations may not work as expected.

For context, could you please let us know whether you translated the strings using Loco Translate or any other third-party translation plugin?

Since we do not maintain the localization files on individual websites from our end, we are unable to provide a proper resolution if the site’s localization has not been properly maintained.

For a more reliable approach, we recommend contributing your French translations directly to the official WordPress translation repository. This helps ensure the translations are preserved and available with future updates, without requiring you to manually translate them again if your site’s localization files are not properly maintained.
