• Hi there,

Wordfence said the free version is removed from the Wordpress library. But actually the free version is needed for the premium version which we bought. So what’s correct? It’s not really transparent or customers friendly at the moment.

Could you provide instructions how to deal with it further?

    Kind regards

    Hi @sarahtopfstaedt ,

Thanks for reaching out. We completely understand your concern, and we’re sorry for the confusion around this.

Yes, you are correct. The free version of Prevent Direct Access is required for Prevent Direct Access Gold to work properly.

The free plugin was temporarily removed from the WordPress.org repository because of a reported vulnerability. Unfortunately, this issue slipped under our radar, and we understand that the removal notice from Wordfence can be concerning, especially since you have already purchased the Gold version.

Our development team has identified and fixed the issue, and we’ve submitted the updated version to the WordPress.org team for review. We’re currently waiting for their review and approval before the plugin can be reopened.

In the meantime, you can continue using Prevent Direct Access Gold. If you need the updated free version, we can provide it directly so you can install it manually.

Once WordPress.org completes its review and reopens the plugin, you’ll be able to update it normally through your WordPress dashboard again.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused, and we appreciate your patience while we work with the WordPress.org team to get this resolved.

    Kind regards,

    Hi there,

It would be nice if we could get the updated version. I have no response via the premium support at the moment.

    Hi @sarahtopfstaedt,

Sorry for the confusion. We are receiving support emails normally, so if you haven’t received a response via premium support, please send us an email directly at support(at)wpfolio.com. We’ll make sure to get back to you there and can also send you the updated free version directly.

    Best,
