Free? Really?

    In the FAQ you write

    Is ActiveLayer free to use?
    Yes. ActiveLayer offers a free tier. Create your account at activelayer.com to get your API key and start protecting your forms and comments from spam.

    Then why am I asked to connect a payment method? And is the free plan limited to 1000 requests?

    I installed ActiveLayer on the website of a non-profit society of glass and ceramics lovers, with several forms on its site.

    Thanks for reaching out!

    Our free plan is limited to 1,000 checks in total, one time, not 1,000 a month. That’s sized for people evaluating it on real traffic, and for small sites that may never need more than that. It isn’t a stripped-down tier either: unlimited sites, full API access, no credit card required.

    The card prompt you ran into is skippable. Under the green “Connect and Continue” button there’s a “Skip and Connect” one that takes you to your project setup, where you generate your API key.

    Since you mentioned it’s for a non-profit society, you can get in touch with us through our contact page and pick Pre-Sales as the topic. There’s a bit more we can do for non-profit customers.
