fractions including "/"

Site uses fractions for item sizes (ex: 5/16) and I need to search for custom posts in both content and taxonomies using fractions to find the right size(post).

I tried stripping the “/” (‘\/’) out of the preg_replace but it didn’t seem to make any difference.

Any suggestions or solutions?
