Forum visibility doesn’t work

Hi,

As @bjesus two weeks ago, forum visibility doesn’t work for me, even if I change theme, even if I delete my functions.php. Forum root is always visible for everyone.

Here is my forum settings . I’m not using custom page for forum root.

1. is this a new setup with private groups
2. has it never worked, or has it stopped working?

It’s a fresh install, which has never worked. But maybe I misunderstood : I thought it was possible to make all forums private for non-members, without having to check a group for each forum.

A forum that has no groups set, BUT where the forum is set to private should not be seen by non-members if your definition of non-members is anyone who is not logged in.

To set a forum to private go into

Dashboard>forums>edit forum and in editing the forum on then right hand side you will see options for visibility.

Yes, it works when changing visibility to private, but I understood that all forums were hidden by default for non logged people, without need to change visibility.

No the plugin allows all possibilities from forums that everyone can see and contribute to, through to totally unseen by anyone but admins.

Many people need public and private group forums, but glad you are fixed !
