Would it be possible to add in the ability to create either forums, or groups, that are accessible based on WP access-levels?
This way you could, say, have a buncha forums that the general public can access and then some other ones that level 4 authors can only see and access, etc…

it would be possible yes, but wp is changing its auth scheme a bit for 1.6 and i need to look into it a bit more before i commit to any features like that. if it looks like its a possibility that i can write it to work in both 1.5 and 1.6 and have the permissioning then i probably will. otherwise i may not. maybe soon….

This support forum is powered by BBPress. As far as I know, tagging is a standard feature. For BBPress support, please ask the BBPress Mailing List.
I hope XD forum will support Private messages between registered users and the admin. I hope we can change the “flag” image next to the topics. Lastly a Sticky function that makes the newest topic on the top would be awesome if its not already there.

When will the Avatar feature be released? And then the edit/delete function for the poster?
One more thing, how do you make two posts have different backround (like this forum, light and darker backrounds to make it easier to see the difference between answers).

ip007: At the moment, I have to do this manually by going into the db and setting the avatar filename. However, I am working on a hack to use Gravatars. I have already added a field in the wp profile to add your gravatar url. I am close.. check http://www.xdweb.net for updates. I usually will post there with any hacks/mods. I have a mod already where the last few posts are listed either in the dashboard sidebar or even in the main page sidebar. XDForum is shaping up to be an already excellent choice for your forum needs. The updates sound awesome! Another mod that I am working on, (because i need this feature), is adding rss links to each thread so users can subscribe to the thread. In due time…
Kassad: Thank you for your comment. The site is fairly new so I am hoping that more of our students will post their student galleries. It will look quite nice when more post their stuff. I am working on the next design of VisCom Creatives. That should be coming in January some time. 🙂
