It sounds like you’re inserting thumbnails.
When you click the Add media button and choose the image, before pressing Insert into page, scroll down on the right to the image size. Make sure it’s selecting the right size (for example, “Full size”).
That setting is kept until the next time you change it, so check it every time.

Thanks for the help!
I am now working on getting the images in my slider sized. The image is not fitting inside the left/right arrows. My friend told me I could size the images to git, but nothing has worked for me.
