Hello, I created a new site this morning and I do not have the format tool bar showing on the page editor. There is only on button, the add media button.

I’ve disabled the only plugins which were installed, Askimet and Hello Dolly. I reactivated them, I reinstalled WordPress 4.4.2. All to no avail.

I then checked all of my other sites and there again I find no formatting tool bar on the page editor.

I installed a different browser to see if it occurred in a different browser. Still have the same problem.

    Any other recomendations?

    Help! need a solution quick!

    Rob

    Also try:
    – Flushing any caching plugins you might be running, as well as server and/or browser caches. Also, any op cache or content network cache, as well as Cloudflare, clear those caches.

    – switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen, etc.) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

I tried all of that, even logging in from another computer and even my iPhone.

I disabled all plugins and didn’t reactivate. Used ccleaner to clean the cache on my computer.

How do I clean the plugin cache?

It seems like a problem with WordPress. I created a fresh new site, nothing added to it. Disabled the Hello Dolly and askimet plugins, reinstalled WordPress 4.4.2. This a completely blank websites and there is no customization at all. I added a new page and there is no format tool bar. I logged in to my other pre
existing websites and have the same problem.

    Please post a url.

Please go to add a new post. In Chrome, upper right corner, more tools then developer tools. Click on Console and then reload your page. You should see if any files, javascript are loading.

    The url is chsads.jhost.org.

I found something else interesting, the text is white. I was trying to type and nothing appeared. then I tried selecting the text and sure enough, it was there.

I’m going to delete this site after you look at it via login. remove spaces from user name and password

okay, its something on my computer causing the problem. either a windows update, malware or virus. I used my other laptop and it works fine.

Glad you got it sorted πŸ™‚

i had the same problem today cfrobw…is it to do with Windows 10, you think?

the text appearing in white, and not able to locate any formatting text tool bar.

simultaneously, when i tried reactivating jetpack, it says ‘site inaccessible’

also, my FB and Linkedin connect also is not estbalishing…

i wonder if there is one thread underlying these separate events that i witnessed. any thoughts?
