Is it possible to format the text that appears after the submit button is hit? I know I can change the text, but it needs to be more noticeable because people submitted the form aren’t seeing it because it’s not noticeable enough

Add any styles for the box in your theme’s stylesheet. It has wpcf7-response-output class, so like this:

.wpcf7-response-output { font-size: 500% }
