Form Redirect – any ideas?

    We currently have a registration/information form that would be completed as part of the purchase/registration process.

    This information is needed to ensure the person is paying the correct amount as well as assisting us in placing the registrant in the right class, etc.

    Right now, when you go to http://sotxjatc.org/cart/ it has the form to fill out, then when the user hit submit the form redirects to the checkout page.

    Does anyone know of a better way to get this done?

    @tsbweb Are there any specific issues you are running into with the current setup that you’d like to solve by implementing a new workflow?

    I have a few additional questions to better understand the desired setup:

    * What type of products is your store selling?
    * How does the form affect pricing?
    * What is the entire workflow that you’d like customers to follow, from beginning to end?

    Sorry for the late response!

    According to the client, he’d like to make the form that’s on the cart page required in order to even purchase classes. The issue right now is the classes are being purchased without filling out the form and the client needs the form to be completed before a purchase is made. Not sure if it helps but the form is Contact Form 7 plugin.

    Here are the answers to your questions:
    * What type of products is your store selling? They aren’t selling products, they are actually classes. Students purchase the course and must fill out the form to ensure they are placed in the correct class.
    * How does the form affect pricing? It does not. The form is only to make sure the students are placed in the correct classes.
    * What is the entire workflow that you’d like customers to follow, from beginning to end? Add what classes they want to cart > fill out the form (this must be a required step before the user can even purchase the class) > Purchase the class / make transaction

    @tsbweb There are two different plugins that can work for you. The first one is Product Add-Ons. This extension would allow you to add extra fields to the product page, which can be text fields that the customers need to fill out before even adding the product (in this case class) to their cart. The fields can be made required so that a customer cannot add to cart without filling out the fields first.

    If you’d like customers to fill out the form after they have added the product to the cart, then you can use something like Checkout Add-Ons, which is similar to the above, but this will let you add those fields to the checkout page instead of the product page.
