Footer editing

    I have created my layout using the icy theme, however I cannot figure out how to change the text in the footer section. I was going to go into the footer.php file and just remove the text I don’t want, however it was recommended that it would be better to start a child theme instead for updating purposes. I am new to WordPress, and I have started child theme, exactly how it is recommended to do so, however I do not have the slightest clue what code to write to override the parent footer theme. If someone could help me I would greatly appreciate it. My website is http://www.phealthhawaii.com

    If you’re struggling with child themes I would go back to plan A and edit line 17 in wp-content/themes/icy/footer.php. This method has the benefit of simplicity. The trick is to make yourself a note of exactly what you did and the text of your new line and keep this where you can find it if you update the theme and have to do the edit again.
