    I set up WooCommerce on my club website three years ago and it has worked fine up until now. For the last few days, I’ve been having trouble completing an order for myself. I have tried ordering a dinner on my laptop, iPhone and iPad and it constantly fails when going to PayPal.

    Others have successfully used the shopping cart to place orders but I have not been able to do it for the last two days. When it gets to PayPal, it just throws up an error screen.

    The store has worked fine for three years. But now I can’t get it to work. I’ve even tried to buy on Data to see if my ISP was blocking PayPal. But still no success.

    Things don’t appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later.

    The error is usually due to a problem with your PayPal account and not with your site

    I recommend contacting PayPal support regarding your account to see if there are any troubles with it — it could be that your account isn’t fully vetted, or it requires an additional setup before payments can be taken.

    I’d also cross-check the following before getting in touch with them:

    1. You have entered your PayPal email address or PayPal Identity Token incorrectly. Please confirm your PayPal email address and PayPal Identity Token are entered correctly within WooCommerce > Settings Payments > PayPal.

    2. Your customers may also see this if Encrypted Website Payments set to ON. Setting it to OFF will resolve the issue. This setting can be adjusted from within your PayPal account by navigating to Profile → Selling Preferences → Website Payment Preferences and selecting OFF under Encrypted Website Payments.
