I couldn’t see it, so I signed out and saw it said sign in to download this for your self hosted wordpress and I sign in and then there is no option any more. It’s really odd.
Hmm, that’s weird – yep, tried it myself too. I’ll see if I can find out what’s going on with it.
Hi again – one of the WP.COM theme support people checked on that and it was, in fact, missing! They’ve fixed it and it should show up as available to download within a short while. Post back if you have any further problems and they’ll be happy to help you with it.
Until it shows up at the above URL, you can grab the zip download from the sidebar here, while logged in:
https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/plane/
Thanks for letting us know the download link was missing!

Thanks for this guys, much appreciated. Merry Xmas.
You’re welcome – enjoy the theme!
Kathryn, I have tried to download the theme as well, to no avail.

Hi tomheymans – you need to be logged into a WordPress.com account in order to download the theme. Are you logged in?
Indeed, even when logged in, no joy.

Which page are you looking on:
1) https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/plane/
2) https://wordpress.com/themes/plane/
Are you sure you’re logged into a WordPress.com account and not your WordPress.org account? The two are different – it’s a separate account than the one under which you’re logged in here in the forums. Could you let me know your WordPress.com username?
The second link helped. Thank you Kathryn.
Much appreciated.
TH
You’re welcome. I’m not sure why you’re not seeing the first link, but I’m glad the second was there.

How can I change the header text size? I’m really struggling to change the CSS to make it work. I want to make it as small as the sub-header/description is now (like my blog shows now).
Any help?

Which “header text” do you mean exactly? If you’re referring to your post and page titles, something like this should do the trick:
.entry-header .entry-title {
font-size: 2.5rem;
}
Don’t edit the theme files directly, otherwise your changes will be overwritten whenever the theme is updated.
An easy way to add custom CSS is to install the Jetpack plugin and activate the Custom CSS module. You’ll then add your custom CSS in the new stylesheet editor that’ll appear in your dashboard, under Appearance > Edit CSS.
As alternatives, you could either install a standalone custom CSS plugin, or create a child theme.
