• Hi there,

I am about to install a WordPress multisite at the root folder of my hosting account server.

At the moment I have a flash site installed there (at the root folder) and would like to delete it and install wordpress in its place.

Is there a way I can make my flash site work as it was, from within a folder placed at the root (where wordpress is installed)?

Is that the way to go or there is a simpler better way – if so how would I make it work?

    Thanks

Yes, you can move your flash site to a subfolder and WordPress will leave it alone. A folder will always trump WordPress posts.

Thanks Ipstenu – that’s great news.

Once I have my flash site inside that folder – how can I make it work if the index.html is inside it?

Lets say my flash site is http://www.hello.com – normally the domain would grab the index.html from my hosting root folder, but if wordpress is installed there and index.html is inside a folder (with all the flash files) – how will it find it there? How do I reconnect it?

    Cheers

You move the flash site, AND it’s index, to hello.com/flash

Then you link to it. That’s called ‘moving the flash site to a subfolder.’

All right, I’ll do so then.

    Thanks a lot Ipstenu
