• I’m working (in my free time, so not that often) on a new geo plugin. It’s not even close to beta, so there’s nothing to show yet. (But I’ll promise it looks good.)
The one thing I need right now is a free (as in freedom) Flash Map. Like some WorldKit examples show, I want to display the posts on a map, which should be zoomable, dragable, good-looking and themeable (or customizable, which is WorldKit isn’t).
Google Maps is a) owned by Google, which I don’t really like, and has b) some problems with mod_rewrite, so it doesn’t work.
Does anyone know of such a map as I need? Please…

    Thanks, Sid

  • wait, i think there is some similar idea which can help you i guess.

    Will be back!

    Ok, got it.

    Here is the info:
It is called the Flash Photoblog World Map
current version as far i know: 1.3
info: A flash based world map that plots locations and thumbnails on to a high resolution world map. Uses
latitude and longitude data sent to flash in XML format from a PHP database.
    Website: http://www.allthegoodness.com/projects/map/

I hope this is going to help you.

    Good Luck mate.

    Thank you, swordfish. Much appreciated.
Problem is, I already reviewed that thing, and it’s not nearly free: You have to donate just to get it, and I’m not sure how this should work if I re-distribute it as a plugin. And I don’t think its author would make a exception for this plugin…
