    Hi Folks

    I am building a site for a band and they want to have a home page in their wordpress site that is Flash only – so I guess it would be a static HTML page? An example would be http://www.flashdesigns.com.au of how i code the HTML for Flash…I don’t use the swfObject I use the Adobe AC RunActiveContent.js

    The idea is to have a simple Flash splash page that is the “home” page of the site…the site thus far is http://www.brownsugarmusic.com.au – the current “home” page content will actually become “about”…

    i don’t need the menu at the top of the splash page or for it to be editable by the CMS…not sure whether a simple hack would just be to place the page in the root of the site as index.html? can i define that page in Settings>Reading>Frontpage as the home page or is there a more robust way of doing this?

    That would be a reasonable solution.

    No but you can define it via DirectoryIndex in .htaccess.
